one of my all time favourite materials to use is good old garden twine and sisal…drawn to the natural rustic feel of it…not only is it visually mouth watering, its environmentally-friendly!
my experience with sisal stems right back from when i was at uni and i took it upon myself to create a human size nest by crocheting with sisal…probably the hardest work my hands have ever seen! sore doesn’t even begin to describe it…but it was a labour of love!
i have now downsized my twine creations to my crocheted baskets and my bunny brooches (seen above top right)…
after exploring etsy…i discovered that i’m not alone in using twine/sisal as a medium for art/craft! i’m glad that my love is shared for the common garden shed essential…
if you create anything with twine, please post me a picture on my facebook wall…i would love to see…
