My main influences are natural growths, for the focus of these pieces I was inspired by lichens.
Using timely labour intensive techniques to emulate nature, I have used crochet to represent this.
Lichens beautifully adorn our natural surroundings, I want to bring this natural beauty into are homes.
Lichens are a measurement of atmospheric pollution; they will only grow where there is little or no pollution. With our society growing at a rapid rate, it is a wonder how long they will survive. Therefore capturing a glimpse of history and protecting the sight of lichen is my aim within my representation boxes.
